ISABELLE SCHELTJENS
Having had an artistic nature from a young age, the Belgian artist Isabelle Scheltjens studied at SISA (Institute of Decorative Arts and Crafts in the city of Antwerp, Belgium). She developed a unique glass fusion technique, through which pieces of glass of different colors, sizes, and textures are melted and fused together in a special kiln at approximately 800°C. After years of intense practice and juxtaposing thousands of pieces of colored glass, she refined this method and truly mastered the theory of colors.
Isabelle's technique allows for stunning optical effects by capturing the dance of light, shadow, and color. The result of this creative process relies on the viewer's eye and mind's ability to perceive it.
